SHAH ALAM, Nov 7 — The High Court today ordered the release of blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin after it ruled that his detention under the ISA was illegal.The editor of the Malaysia Today news portal is expected to be produced in court by 4pm today after which he will be released.
The court ruling followed a habeas corpus application by Raja Petra’s counsel seeking his release from detention under the ISA.
The blogger was arrested on Sept 12 before he was sent to the Kamunting Detention Camp on Sept 23.
Home Minister Syed Hamid Albar had signed a detention order the previous day for Raja Petra to be held under section 8(1) of the ISA. This allows for the initial two-year detention period without trial to be renewed indefinitely.

Apakah nasib tahanan ISA yang lain? Sampai bila mereka harus terus dikurung? Apakah kesalahan mereka? Kenapa mereka tidak pernah didakwa di mahkamah? Kalau tiada bukti untuk menahan mereka kenapa meraka dikurung? Undang-undang apa ini..... menghukum orang bersalah sebelum terbukti bersalah? Bebaskan semua tahanan ISA atau bicarakan mereka segera.!!!! Mereka ada keluarga, mereka ada anak, mereka ada tanggungjawab, siapa yang akan menyara keluarga mereka, siapa yang mengambil tahu sakit pening mereka, siapa...........????
